Naughty or Sleepy?

Could your dog's restless, wild or “naughty” behaviour actually be a sign they need more sleep?

If your dog struggles to settle, gets increasingly wild as the day goes on, seems constantly “on”, or turns into a tiny menace by evening, it’s easy to assume they need more exercise or stimulation.

But sometimes, they need the exact opposite.

Naughty or Sleepy? explores the connection between sleep, stress and behaviour — and helps you take a closer look at whether your dog is actually getting the rest they need.

Because an overtired dog can look a lot like a naughty one.

Inside the course

We’ll look at how sleep affects your dog’s behaviour, stress levels and ability to learn, along with some of the common signs that your dog may not be getting enough quality rest.

Then you’ll put it into practice with the 7-Day Sleep Experiment — a simple way to observe your own dog’s sleep and see whether small changes to their routine make a difference.

There’s no rigid sleep schedule to follow and no magic number of hours your dog “should” be sleeping. The idea is to understand your dog and what helps them settle, rest and cope better with everyday life.

You’ll also get free access to...

The Sleep Resources Library, with practical games and guides to help you put what you learn into practice, including:

Reward Nothing • Boundary Training • Crate Training and other useful sleep and settling resources.

Plus, you'll have access to the Busy Pawz community and our Monthly Community Chat, where you can bring along your dog behaviour and training questions.
